2009 June

I have been hard at work fabricating up the passenger side footbox.  It was a lot of fun, but a little challenging at times.  Here are the fruits of my labor...

The first two photos here are of Paul Berg's ride.  He has a 351 Ford Windsor block with Hooker headers.  My goal was to make more room but not interfere with the headers.

And here is what I have come up with so far...

Note how small the original footbox was.

Powder Coating is finally finished.  Man does it look good or what?  It is Gloss Metallic Black.

While I wait for parts and powder coating I thought I would get started on the Independent Rear Suspension (IRS).  I am still missing the mounding hardware for the differential but I will get started anyway.  I at least positioned the differential and loosely mounted the lower control arms into place.  Decided I should read up on how to best space out the hiem joints with the provided washers.  I need to do a little more reading on the whole assembly, as the instruction manual is severely lacking for us newbies.  I'll post a couple of pics as I get it more together.

On the bright side my aluminum panels should be coming out of the powder coater soon.  I chose to have them coated in a gloss metallic black.  I think it will look sharp.
